Learningforsure - Adult Literacy and Numeracy Information

Learningforsure was set up in 2003 to offer high quality training to professionals working in the field of adult literacies. Since then Learningforsure has developed and expanded to incorporate the growing need for dyslexia services including specialist advice, support and screening.

Profile

My name is Claire Thom. I have specialised in dyslexia and related specific learning difficulties for over 17 years. I am a trained Community and Adult Education worker, I hold the PG Module in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) and have recently completed the PG Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy.

My main aim is to work with individuals and groups all over Scotland to raise awareness of dyslexia, to improve skills and to de-stigmatise the difficulties faced by adults with dyslexia and related specific learning difficulties. I do this through dyslexia training, dyslexia education as well as offering screening for adults who think they may be dyslexic. In the workplace, etc.
